@Arizona Docent Pairi Daiza has plenty of unique and weird exhibit designs, and this isn't even by far the strangest.

The buildings on the right side are (expensive) lodges, part of the park's resort. This area is also a walk-through fallow deer exhibit (the deer can also walk between and behind the lodges, where they have grassy areas).

Also, geese (barnacle and some cackling Canada) seem love this waterfront too. So there's goose poop to watch out for also (especially close to and among the rocks). Also as a resort guest you can access this area at night and while there is some lighting, one still has to watch out a little bit for sleeping geese (I was suddenly surprised by one honking last year as I stepped a little too close, first not having really noticed it).
