Chlidonias 20 Jul 2013 when quokkas were first discovered by Europeans, the explorer in question (Samuel Volkerssen in 1658) thought they were civets. When I first saw quokkas I was actually surprised how reminiscent of civets their faces are. Very cool little animals.
