The Man-eating Lions of Tsavo, Mammals of Africa - Feb. 2022

The Sign Reads:
"The Lions of Tsavo:
During a nine-month reign of terror in 1898, these two male lions, known as The Lions of Tsavo (SAH-vo), preyed on the construction workers of the British Ugandan Railway in modern-day Kenya. By the time head railway engineer J.H. Patterson stopped the lions, they had halted work on the railway for three months, caused hundreds of people to flee for their lives, and killed at least 28 of the railway workers.
