For the 5th consecutive New Year's Day my wife and I took the kiddies to B.C.'s most popular paid attraction: the Vancouver Aquarium. We visit the facility all the time but every January 1st for 5 straight years we've purchased a $25 official photo taken by the staff and with an aquarium-themed backdrop. Interestingly enough the first photo in 2011 featured just my wife, myself and our daughter. Each year we seem to have another child of our own and this year it was a family affair as a whopping dozen of us are in the 2015 photo. A wonderful tradition and I can see everyone age in the 5 mounted frames in our basement!
I took a single photo on the latest visit and it is of the poster above. As part of the $45 million expansion that took place in 2014 the aquarium built a "Changing Exhibits" gallery that is 4,250 sq. ft. of space set aside for temporary exhibits. Many top aquariums have themed complexes that are rotating or travel from facility to facility. There isn't much of anything to be found online and all I know is that some kind of "sea monster" set of exhibits will make its debut in March.
Here is "Sea Monsters Revealed" at Georgia Aquarium:
