The otter exhibit

The otter exhibit. This must be the newest exhibit at the park. Probably some 2000 square meters (one half of an acre) devoted to a (so far) single female otter that I could not spot. Some rather tacky attempts at "zoo landscaping" (not a Swedish zoo "speciality" as regular Zoochatters will know by now...).

Never mind - I still loved the exhibit and I bet the otter does, too!

Half an acre for a single otter? Paradise for that little critter, and yet more evidence of the beautiful sizes of the enclosures at this wildlife park. It's great to see these simple yet effective enclosures. Some of the exhibits are not as visitor-friendly as they could be, but the animals definitely come first at this establishment.

From the animal's perspective this is the absolute best otter exhibit I have ever seen, and possibly in the world. It is massive and natural with several small lakes and streams as well as lots of rocks and foliage. I love it!

It does not have any underwater viewing but visitors can spot the otter in her sleeping den if she is not outside (I have only seen her indoors).
