@FBBird this subspecies (or species if one splits it) is commonly called the Short-billed Brown Dove, so "Thick-billed" is likely a translation error (perhaps an alternative name, although I haven't seen them called that before). In any case, the scientific name is in the title so there is no confusion with the green pigeon species.
