I just hope if the species comes any closer to the brink of extinction zoos in Europe in particular will take up the cause and start some intensive breeding programs for the species. Perhaps more common Eurasian brown bears can be swopped out for the blue bears in as many collections as possible.
@amur leopard No chance. The actual European brown bear breeding program (so not the entire EEP) is already quite small, most bears are actually rescues from the East/circuses.
