Lintworm: thanks, it was four years ago and again I made no notes, but I seemed to recall them being Sri Lankan Leopards.

Taun: yes, an interesting design, although I'm not sure about its usefulness for the leopards, such as if they can climb in those trees.

Is it just me who thinks the cover over the visitor area looks like a ramp?

Indeed, I guess the skateboarders of Bern use the leopard exhibit at their leisure when the zoo closes! :)

This type of design is relatively inexpensive to construct and has very low long-term maintenance costs.Happily, it is attractive and appears more expensive than it really is.Something to be considered by any zoo with normal budget constraints.

It looks quite spacious compared to a lot of leopard enclosures that I've seen. How many does it hold? And do they have seperation pens for breeding/introductions etc?

There are 1,1 leopards, in two enclosures. It's a great enclosure :) And by now with a bit more vegetation.

I like the fact it's got a lot of ledges for climbing, the space and the fact it's a similar enviroment to where the Persians are found in the wild. Sand, rocks and basically a montane/desert enclosure. Wish the UK would build more leopard exhibits, especially ones like this! :)
