Semnornis ramphastinus. Photographed at Mindo, Pichincha province.
What an astounding and colorful bird, and definitely one of my bird highlights of the Mindo area. This picture concludes my pictures of Ecuador. What a magnificent and diverse country! I saw a staggering 370 bird species, including 46 different hummingbirds, 7 monkey species, agouti’s, Lowland paca’s, boto’s and many different insects. I recommend visiting this country for its natural beauty!
