Travel crate in Striped Hyena enclosure

One can only hope the taxon is replaced by another interesting mid-size carnivore. Personally I think the enclosure would be quite suited to caracal.

Well I'm glad I got to see her on Saturday then. Anyone know where she is departing to?

I would like to hear about and see the return of either lions, tigers or seals and sea lions. (but first, focus on improving primate living conditions)

I have asked if lions or tigers will ever return to the zoo and they do not have plans to add any more big cats. :(

Thank god they don't the old Lion enclosure which this picture shows part of,didn't even meet the minimum standards for size of enclosure or house for Asian Lions when it was built, but yet the studbook still let them keep the species. In case you think that the studbook keeper didn't know it didn't meet the standards set by him,the then studbook holder worked at Twycross at the time this was built!
