Not only were these trees never used in the Gorilla Habitat, the space where they sit was originally slated as the 3rd Gorilla enclosure. It initially was the White Rhinoceros yard and later one of two Black Rhinoceros yards. The zoo's current director would like to see funds raised to convert it into an Okapi habitat.
