Would anyone be able to confirm if the trees in the indoor orangutan space received a paint job? They looked slightly more saturated and darker than usual, but I cannot tell based on the lighting of these photos and my own.
@Mr Gharial Not really, it's a common critique. There's long been wishes that they'd put in natural substrates and live plants or at least fake greenery.
The faded blue tile ceilings have always reminded me of a former soviet block public pool building. Both sterile, and dirty looking at the same time... The whole thing needs to be torn down in my opinion.
I can understand if demolition and rebuilding aren't done for cost reasons. But with a bit of wood or bamboo poles in front of the old walls, it would look much more natural. And of course natural substrate.
