That's the name of this exhibit area, mainly inside the building. But this is the gorilla's outdoor enclosure, and keep in mind this was taken in early March. I know, still not much of a forest though.
The indoor area is probably in the top 3 worst indoor exhibits in the USA!
Why is this permitted in the zoo community. I have no doubt the keepers are aware of the problems, l wonder who exactly it is that stops this exhibit space from being overhauled?
I'm sure the zoo has had some plans to refurbish a number of exhibits through out the park, including the Bear exhibits. It is some tough times for some zoos and aquairums right now, and I'm sure Pittsburgh is no exception. It will only be a matter of time before a new exhibit is built. Water's Edge was completed in 2008 I believe, so another exhibit is probally in the making.
