There have been rumors that the zoo will embark on a campaign to provide an outdoor environment for its orangutans, as sadly what is shown in this photo is their entire enclosure. Does anyone know if there are definite plans for the orangs? Sadly the Tropical Forest complex (other than a hit-and-miss gorilla exhibit) is just dreadful and geared far more towards visitors than the inhabitants of the "tropical" cages.

recently the news was the zoo hired a new development director and her first plans is to work on the Top Of the World exhibit which would give the orangutans a new exhibit. On a side note one of are female orangutans will be leaving the zoo for SSP.
