The one that always gets me is when ancient Roman or mediaeval European/Middle Eastern characters have pet Amazon parrots or squirrel monkeys. I seem to recall even the superb HBO/BBC Rome series got caught out on that one.
I like the kookaburra calls in every jungle in the world. Also New Zealand cabbage trees and flax seem to be ubiquitous in the world's rainforests now!
The best one perhaps is Anaconda 2, set in Borneo! (Also showing in passing, a tiger and howler monkeys. I think there was a capuchin in there as well?).
