These birds have always fascinated me. Is this a male or female? Despite seeing many of them over the years, I continue to be confused by the different skin colours of the throat pouches between 1. male and female and 2. the Abyssinian and Southern races.
This is a female Abyssinian, named after "the" Twiggy (because of her eyelashes I think) and she does do a catwalk twirl as part of her routine. She was hatched at Exmoor Zoo.
