The patterning, body and head shape and scales don't match variabilis. They look like Blue Spiny (S. cyanogenys) to me, but I'd definitely get a second opinion.
@Coelacanth18 I agree. These are definitely one of the Sceloporus species and Sceloporus cyanogenys (Blue Spiny Lizard) is the closest match to the pair in this photo. S. variabilis lacks the black band at the base of the neck.
