in Chatuchak Park, Bangkok. This species is very widespread in southeast Asia and comes in many different colour forms (hence the common name). Baby squirrels are sold by the hundred in the Chatuchak Market (see the Thailand - Other gallery) and released pets mean that multiple subspecies of variable squirrels now inhabit the parks of Bangkok. I saw four different forms today, as well as a Himalayan striped squirrel ([i]Tamiops macclellandii[/i]), at Chatuchak Park and Rot Fai Park.
