There were about 6 or 7 birds as I recall, just on a simple moated paddock with a low waterfall. They were mixed with Long-tailed Ducks, King Eiders and Spectacled Eiders.
A little belated, but for the purposes of your lifelist I'm pretty sure these birds were hybrids between fusca and deglandi - the eyespot matches the former, but the bill and the brownish sides (visible in other shots of the birds formerly held at Walsrode) match the latter.
