It is fantastic isn't it, one of the most spectacular views I've seen in a long time.
I will hopefully be posting this day's post in my thread tomorrow or later this week (along with a few more pictures) but this was one of my favourite spots of the whole trip with loads of birds and reptiles around, quite a few hyraxes, and Cape Buffalo in the woodland directly below.
Also this was an official picnic site so I could walk freely around here.
As lintworm said the majority of flamingos left a few years ago (I remember thousands of flamingos from my visit to Nakuru in 2007). Apparently this was due to water levels rising and diluting the lake (and a lot of roads and stuff on the lake shore were flooded too, you can see the line of dead trees.)
