This is an extraordinary-looking exhibit and thanks for posting updated photos "zoogiraffe"! After seeing photos of Zoorasia's gorgeous chimp jungle, or after having visited Kansas City Zoo's 3-acre chimpanzee forest...this Colchester contraption is a hideous eyesore. However, that is simply my opinion and I realize that some individuals on this site will probably rave about the climbing opportunities for the apes. Is there going to be an upper viewing deck for the public to see chimpanzees at eye level in their all-metal canopy?
Is there a reason for the mixed use of wooden poles and metal framework for the enclosure? I see it only as to add variety to the uniform horizontal and vertical metal members, but maybe it was monetary issue or structural purpose?
