View of the savanna paddock from the SnavelRijk aviary

The SnavelRijk also has a viewing area for the savanna paddock with harp wire.
In the back left one can see a giraffe, which I believe is a reticulated giraffe (Giraffa camelopardalis reticulata under the old taxonomy, Giraffa reticulata under the revised taxonomy). Amersfoort also has Rotschild giraffe (Giraffa camelopardalis rotschildi under the old taxonomy, part of the Nubian giraffe G. c. camelopardalis under the revised taxonomy). The reason for the presence of two subspecies is that Amersfoort houses a herd of bachelor males.
