well, what you see at the front of this photo - bare earth, a few scraggly plants, and big trees - is pretty much it. The forest which survives appears to only be behind the enclosure (i.e. as can be seen at the back of this photo behind the electric wires).
I found it quite difficult to judge the elephant enclosure as a large part seemed to be hidden, as in it was long and narrow but went behind the housing so you couldn't view it all from the path.
The area around the pools appeared to be just earth now.
That's a pity, although I suppose it was inevitable. The area around the pool was always earth, but there were lots of smaller trees along the path between the pools viewing and the house viewing.
