The warty pigs have figured out how to lift the trapdoor into the neighbouring enclosure, which might be a bit of an issue given it's the rhino enclosure, and an angry Indian rhino isn't to be trifled with...
Unless this is an older fencing, then surely, as the new Rhino House is a relatively recent addition, this was intentional, as a mixed exhibit that allows the pigs an entire.
@Kalaw Not sure it is - the trapdoor didn't look like the pigs were meant to be opening it, and I'm not sure I've ever seen a warty pig/rhino mixed exhibit. Would be relieved to be wrong though.
@amur leopard I’ve not seen it either, but Indian Rhinos have been mixed with some other interesting creatures before, such as Sarus Crane and Nilgai at Beauval. I will I trust your judgement regarding whether or not it looked intentional, however, seeing as you saw it in person. If it is accidental, then it is worrying but also quite entertaining to see the pigs do this.
I think Nürnberg mixes the two species. But even if they mix them in Berlin as well I don't think the intention was that the pigs open the door whenever they want to. Because then why should you build a door.
