@Anniella For females, how do you tell the difference? Because the "visiblely confused" in the front looks like this individual (Sika Deer - Asia Section - ZooChat) to me, which Pleistohorse identified as sika.

It's the "topography" of the face. Fallow deer have a flatter, smoother topography to their face compared to sika, which have more of a brow in between their eyes that almost looks like a "cervid unibrow." Compare these fallow deer to the pictures of sika in this link: Sika deer
You can clearly see the difference.
