With barn owls and Eurasian long-eared owls, although they very rarely show themselves. On the left in the background, where the doors are, there is an old beaver den. People used to be able to view into it but the windows are so dirty now you can't really.
It's actually quite easy to spot one or two of the barn owls, they are almost always found in the large Taxus. There should be 4 as far as I know. The long-eared owls are in my opinion also quite visible, although they have become a bit more shy then they used to be in the beginning. They love to be in the Hedera and in the large tree on the right.

@Jarne I don't think there are any long-eared owls left now, they are no longer signed. I indeed spotted a barn owl in the large taxus during my visit on Friday.

This aviary now also temporarily houses some scarlet and black-faced ibis that have returned to the park/been recaptured after the netting damage and escapes from the South American aviary in February.

@KevinB They have never been signed in the first place as far as I know. On my last visit, they were still there and don't remember them being signed back then.

@Jarne I will look for them next time I'm at Planckendael (I go there somewhat regularly, probably at least half a dozen times per year). Thank you very much for your tips on where to find them!

@KevinB Don't forget to look from outside the aviary where the raccoon enclosure is, from that angle they are most easily spotted if they are in the tree next to the mesh.
