This doesn't look like a viviparous lizard to me. I think it looks rather like a skink, which is not a native species of course. Where did you take the photo?
@gentle lemur Having looked at some more photos, you could definitely be right. It was taken in a village near Taunton, Somerset - several could be seen on a wall, and family members living in the area claim that they could reliably be seen on said wall for many years.
Edit: Have looked at further photos, and it seems to resemble a Wall Lizard more, which would also match family members' claims that the males are bright green. Regardless, my initial belief that it was a Viviparous Lizard seems to be very wrong...
@Kalaw I think a wall lizard is much more probable, I know that some colonies have become established in Southern England. It is quite a variable species, so the different populations may look rather different, depending on the original locations of the founder animals.
