Wallaby Trail - Ranger Station

New trail which had its soft opening on 27 July 2012. It will be officially opened on 17 August. It is home to 6 Australasian species - Bennett\'s and parma wallbies, brush-tailed possum, sugar glider, white-lipped python and tawny frogmouth, in addition to the Naracoorte Cave exhibit.

The Ranger Station houses information panels and animal specimens.

This looks quite educational, with a fair amount of signage, and some skeletons? Are those stuffed kangaroos to the right?

I remember very little in the way of signage beyond just basic labels at the Night Safari, in contrast with the Zoo, so would you say this was a bit of an improvement in that regard?

There are 3 skeletons - cassowary, agile wallaby and grey kangaroo; and 3 stuffed specimens - cassowary, grey kangaroo and barn owl. All encased in the display.

The kangaroos to the right are metal cut-out shapes.

It's definitely is an improvement in terms of signage. The new trail exhibits built in the last 2 years come with bigger and more comprehensive signage, so it's a good sign (pun intended ).

With platypus finally making it out of Australia to San Diego, have there been any rumors or rumblings of Singapore wanting to get in on platypus mania at some point? A platypus exhibit seems like it would be a great fit for either Night Safari or River Safari (although obviously probably a very small chance of happening).

@DavidBrown I don't think Wildlife Reserves Singapore has any interest in acquiring platypus. It probably comes down to a combination of difficult husbandry/specialized diet and being a species that generally doesn't display well.

Still a bit of a shame the Ranger Station was removed from the trail, I remembered really liking these
