I've been wondering since I first saw this enclosure, could the warthogs ever be let out into the mixed savannah paddock? The two spaces are in very close proximity to each other and it looks like it could be possible with the hard standing area next to the house. It seems to be a non breeding group of Warthog as well at the moment (either 0:5 or 0:3).
@Maguari If they all looked the same/similar age than that would be the three girls born at Colchester in the 2024 (March) litter: Poppy, Willow and Badger. I had also seen only three in a video so did wonder whether it was just them, but the stocklist showed 0:2 at the end of 2024, which would've been before the new trio arrived.
It would be excellent if they did mix the warthogs with the savannah, as I don’t think any other UK zoo does this. Have only ever seen it done at Hagenbeck and it proved fantastically entertaining, with the warthogs interacting with, and attempting to intimidate, the ostriches at times. Either way, this looks like an excellent warthog enclosure.
