waterfowl enclosure

The Te Anau Wildlife Centre is a small free-entry DoC-run facility, mostly housing rehabilitated birds I gather, although there are also takahe there.

The waterfowl enclosure had labels for paradise duck, grey duck, mallard, brown teal and pukeko. I only saw a mallard, a Canada goose and a female paradise duck. As the saying goes, it was nice weather for ducks when I visited (i.e. raining!), but obviously these particular ducks did not like the rain.
