This is the form currently referred to as Rhinopias eschmeyeri, common names include Paddle-flap Scorpionfish and Eschmeyer's Scorpionfish. However, there is some evidence to suggest that this species is a synonym of R. frondosa, and the two 'species' are in fact male and female of the same species.
