Tell us about how you came across the snake - what were you doing, and what was he doing ? Was he just off the side of the road or something ?

Very intimidating - that is one dangerous snake!

Sorry to disappoint you Sim, but it wasn't quite like that!

I was at Gundabooka with the Australian Herpetological Society and the Australian Museum on a field trip. Snakes are very uncommon in the area and this was one of only two we collected (under the Museum's collecting license). This photo was taken the following morning - several members of the team wanted photographs, and he was very accommodating.
