Waited 40ish minutes to get into this just to try and find their yellow rimmed nudibranch and monterey sea lemon, wish both of those species were on display in other parts of the aquarium instead. I did manage to spot them but I don't think its worth going in unless you really want to see either of those species.
@squatch The Wet Lab is closed to the general public probably 99% of the time, so it was neat to go inside for the first time in around a decade. It's more for young kids to have an opportunity to gently touch creatures in the various tanks.
@snowleopard I didn't mention that the whole experience felt very awkward for me lol. I wasn't interested in any of the touch tanks and just anxiously shuffled around the families looking for sea slugs. The whole experience made me feel like a true zoochatter, and the awkwardness of it is the only reason I wont be going back . IMHO they should open the wet lab at a certain time just so nerds like me can look at all the marine inverts.
I really would love to see the nudibranchs. They're so rare in aquariums (at least in the West) and when they are displayed, they're squirreled away in places like this.
@Ebirah766 I believe both of these species mentioned are present in the kids section at the Monterey Bay and perhaps in the California Academy of Sciences? They are found in the will in tide pools.
