I know few people will agree, but then I live in the past and an Elephant reaching out for a treat from a member of the public is just what I love, well loved, to see. On the other hand when I visited on 1st November 1997 I saw Kasama was missing and on asking a keeper was told she had died of salmonella poisoning 2 1/2 to 3 weeks earlier and that Flossie had it too. As a result an extra barrier had been installed and the ban on public feeding was being strictly enforced. I do not know if Kasama's death was the result of public feeding, but.......
