This bird appeared in the Hunting Dog exhibit just before feeding time - and helped itself to scraps the dogs dropped while fighting over the food. Although they were small scraps for the dogs, they were quite decent-sized for the Heron. And unlike the dogs who gobbled down the food quickly, the heron took every piece to the pond and washed it first!
