This enclosure held the 4 White Rhinos that can be seen in this photo, as well as 5 Cheetahs. The mixed-species combination has been around for at least 20 years at Boras Zoo.
@TortoisesAreTerrific I have no idea, as I saw a White Rhino charge at a Cheetah while I was at the zoo. As far as I know, there haven't been any major incidents in 20 years. This is the same zoo that has kept a herd of African Elephants (currently 7) and Cape Buffalo (4) together with a variety of antelope on the African Savanna for 60 years. It's amazing!
@TortoisesAreTerrific Lots of zoos have this mix. Neither species is really interested in each other since rhinos are herbivores and far too large for a Cheetah to even consider taking down.
