That is a very handsome antelope - more so than the commonly held C taurinus, which is what we have here in the USA. I think I remember years ago, around 1990, San Diego Safari Park used to have both. But I do not think there are any more of this type in this country. Does anyone know of any?

Finally remembered to to check this - I saw both C. taurinus and C. gnou at Escondido in 1998, so you remember correctly! :D
