It used to be for a tortoise species - leopard tortoises I believe. This is a new addition in the Kopje building from a few months ago.

@Mr Gharial from the reflections I'd suggest there is a pane of glass right behind where the lizard is resting.

There is no glass behind the lizard, it's just the glare from the window in the front. I'd say this exhibit is pretty deep, definitely longer than the photo makes it out to be.

@pachyderm pro why is the glare behind the tank furniture then? It looks suspicious.

There may have been a heated lamb that creates the illusion of glare or the angle this photo was taken. Regardless, I can safely say there is no extra pane of glass at the back of the exhibit.
