Wild Bald Eagles

July 2009.
How come wild eagles live in the zoo?

White-tailed eagles winter on city rivers in Central Europe, but they are shy and I never seen wild one in any zoo.

It is not uncommon to see bald eagles flying in the skies here in southern British Columbia, Canada. Sometimes my wife and I see a couple of eagles at the Greater Vancouver Zoo, and the zoo has a thick forest that surrounds some of the enclosures. Perhaps the eagles feel safe nesting near a zoo.:)
