Wild crab-eating raccoon

Are these easy to see here? I hear differing things, but my assumpton would be that visitors feed them so they would be much more visible than in truly wild habitats.

And was the photo taken at night?

Photo was taken around 15.00h. It was the only raccoon I saw at Punta Culebra and it was hiding at the base of a hill. It appeared to be quite shy (in contrast to the raccoons I saw in Costa Rica's Manuel Antonio on a previous trip), so I doubt that visitors feed the raccoons.
