Wild Malayan Tapir - Taman Negara

June 2018
Even at the end of the trip, I still think this was the most effort I put into finding a particular species. I finally saw the tapir at 4AM on my second full stakeout night at Kumbang Hide which is certainly the most in-the-middle-of-nowhere place I stayed at on this trip. Clearly worth it though. I mean, it's a wild Malayan Tapir.

I think second place for most effort searching for a particular species would be Pygmy Slow Loris.
