wild northern mockingbird

New Years Day, 2014.
Nice start to the New Year AD.

What lens were you using as I notice that the EXIF Data for Focal Length says 200.0mm (35mm equivalent: 1863mm). Wow 1863mm!!

The ZooChat EXIF stats do not work with a full frame camera (never have). The interpolation only works on crop cameras. On a full frame, such as my 5D3 (and all my previous shots on 5D2), you just go with the first number (in this case 200mm) and ignore the "35mm equivalent."

Although I know some of the common birds in the area, I did not know what a northern mockingbird looks like. The reason I was able to identify this is because one of their docents who knows wild birds was standing next to me. We were alone together at the coati exhibit, watching the coatis which were more active than usual. However several small birds were also flying into the very natural exhibit and the docent was naming them all for me.
