Great photo! Are these bird-eaters or do they cause any problems at the zoo? Here in the U.S., many of the southern zoos are plagued with ratsnakes that find their way into exhibits and eat birds and small mammals at night. I hope this snake doesn't do the same.
@Summer Tanager Bronzebacks are too small to prey on most birds, but other native snakes like Reticulated Pythons have preyed on birds from the Singapore wildlife parks' collections in the past, especially those housed in open enclosures like waterfowl. I've heard that a python once preyed on an Australian Pelican at Night Safari, but have not heard of such incidents in recent times, probably because of active surveillance for wild python activity.
Thank you for the reply and I'm glad to hear that Bronzebacks are a relatively harmless snake for small vertebrates. I can only image the havoc that pythons could produce at a zoo. Most of our snakes in the U.S. are little to no threat to birds and there are a lot of snakes that feed almost exclusively on insects including the Ring-necked Snakes, Worm Snakes, Greensnakes, Earthsnakes, and Lined Snakes. Our only "problem" snakes in zoos are the handful of ratsnake species. They are common and agile constrictors that often hunt in the trees and at night when birds are most vulnerable.
