What a striking image of bars! Of all the 3,343 photos of Cincinnati Zoo (an insane amount and surely far more than any other zoo on this website) this photo is interesting. Is it an off-exhibit area? I do not recall it from my 2008 visit and are the thick steel bars an attempt to give the Bald Eagle privacy?

Actually San Diego has 1,000 photos more This is an off exhibit area for the birds in the Wings of Wonder show. As of now it holds a rhinoceros hornbill. You probably didn't see it because it's hidden along side of the 4D theater. I'll try to find out when it was built, obviously it was a long time ago.
