5 degrees below Celsius, snow all over the place and the lions do sometimes cuddle up together in a wind sheltered corner. But they have free access to their - no doubt - much warmer indoor quarters, so they decide for themselves to stay out in the cold.

And I think the male gets the best warmest spot!
This is an impressive looking pride.

To tell the truth, I watched the big male getting up, walking some 10 meters away to take a c**p, then walk back to his family and more or less bully his way back into the warmest spot in the corner... :p

The Copenhagen male lion seems to live up to every standard image that has ever been portrayed of male lions! And this is indeed an impressive group. Love it when the male in the group has such an impressive mane.

They are absolutely beautiful... With a mane and pride like that who needs to go indoors? Ha ha :) x
