I don't know about breeding plans, but I think Beardsley's wolves have well-represented genes in U.S. zoos. For the Maned Wolves, however, when the sisters stop getting along, they're going to ship one out, and then bring in a male for the remaining one.
I don't know exactly how much snow they got, but I think I heard around 30 inches. Keepers had to walk through four to five foot drifts of snow to make sure all animals were safe and secure, and the zoo has been closed since Friday, and will be closed tomorrow. I have heard that the Amur Tigers are enjoying it though.
UPDATE: The zoo is closed until further notice due to the blizzard. No damage has occured at the zoo, but with the travel ban in place and many roads not plowed, much is needed to be done to prepare the zoo for visitors.
