I'm going to Stockholm in a few weeks and hoping to visit Skansen while I'm there. Really hoping I'll see the wolverine as I've never seen one before - love your photos.
I hope and belive that you'll enjoy your visit to Skansen. The wolverines tend to be relatively easy to see this time of the year. Don't forget to pay a visit to Skansen-Akvariet (Skansen Aquarium) while you're there. I can definitely recommend that. I hope you'll bring your camera, your pictures isn't bad either.
Thanks Jodea, My trip is actually to see the Vasa ship for research for a children's book I've been working on - but I can never resist the chance to visit a zoo. I will try and fit the aquarium in too - but I'm confused are there two in Stockholm?
Skansen is a giant outdoor museum of Sweden. Here are many exhibitions about Sweden through time and soem large outdoor enclosures for the native wildlife including wolverines, brown bears, reindeer, lynx and wolves.
The Skansen Aquarium is located within Skansen so you can't miss it It is actually more of a tropical zoo with many interesting species and some nice exhibits.
The Aquaria Watermuseum is located just outside of Skansen and is a nice little aquarium. Not huge but with a few interesting exhibitions.
The Vasa ship and the attractions mentioned above are located within 5 minutes of walking distance between them so you can easily visit them all. Check Google Earth to get the picture.
Thanks Toddy, that's good to know as I'll only have two days there! Really looking forward to visiting Stockholm - and it will be my first time in Scandinavia.
