This is a smashing set of photos, Tim - and these wolverines look particularly magnificent. I assume these were taken at feeding time; how well do they show themselves when they're not being fed?

No, the wolverine photos were not taken at feeding time.
In my experience the best time to see the wolverines is towards the end of the day when they are generally extremely active and clearly visible; with their exhibit being conveniently close to the exit I normally spend the last half-an-hour of every Whipsnade visit watching the wolverines.
Couldn't agree more, they have transformed what for me , was a pretty boring enclosure into one of the best in the zoo. The bear/wolverine walk is probably my favourite part and i spend as much time looking at the wolverine , whereas before the wallabies/storks barely merited a glance compared to the bears!
