A pair of black swans , a red crowned crane, some type of turtle species and on my last visit there was a bald eagle but this time nothing in its exhibit.
Yup. A Red Crowned Crane, 2 Black Swans, some Mallard Ducks (typical of waterfowl ponds), and 3 species of turtle (Map Turtle, Red Eared Slider, and Painted Turtle).
The Bald Eagles are part of the zoo's program for the rehabilitation of injured birds of prey (which includes 2 bald eagles, a Kestrel, and a Red Tailed Hawk). I haven't heard much about the eagles, since I'm not involved in the program at the moment.
Also, the river otters will be moved down here eventually, and an exhibit will be constructed either near the path that leads to the barn, or near the waterfall, complete with soil for the otters to dig in and underwater viewing.
