Wood Nymph Butterfly

That's interesting - I've always known Idea leuconoe as a Wood Nymph. I rather like 'Chinese Kite Butterfly'. Not sure how appropriate the 'Chinese' bit is though - it's rather more widespread than that, I think.

I just did a quick bit of research and it is called variously, Rice Paper Butterfly, Tree Nymph, Wood Nymph or Paper Kite. Apparently the range of this species does not include China. I can't remember where I got the name from now. Thanks for putting me right Maguari.

Oh, I wasn't trying to pick fault with yourself - plenty of animals have misleading geography in their names!

No problem Maguari, I did not see your post as fault picking. I took it to mean that you were passing on information that I was not aware of.
